2nd India Startup Festival to be held from Aug 10-12 in B’luru

Bengaluru India Startup Foundation (ISF) is going to hold the second ‘India Startup Festival’ in Bengaluru on August 10-12 with a focus on promoting rural innovation across sectors.

With the theme of 'Innovation at Bottom of the Pyramid', more than 10,000 startups from India, the UK and Japan will participate in this startup event. Moreover, around 500 investors are also expected to be present, who will evaluate various business plan for investment.

“With a vision to reimagine the start-up landscape in India, we are committed to empowering entrepreneurs and fostering a startup community that will enable them to unleash their full potential. This festival will be a vibrant hub of entrepreneurial energy and innovation," JA Chowdary, chairperson and convenor of the ISF, said in a statement.

"For India to flourish, the fruits of the startup ecosystem must reach rural India, ushering in new opportunities and employment prospects," Chowdary added.

This is the second edition of India Startup Festival, which has successfully held its first edition in the city last year with participation of more than 2,000 startups and several delegates.

The upcoming startup event will see presence of several eminent personalities including Madhusudan Sai, founder of Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence; Meenakshi Lekhi, Minister of state for External affairs and Culture; Priyank Kharge, Minister of Information Technology and Bio technology, Karnataka, and N S Boseraju, Minister of Minor Irrigation from Water Resources Department of Karnataka.

In an interaction earlier, Chowdary has told the BizzBuzz that more than 20 startups will be awarded for their innovations and will be receiving active mentorship from ‘India Startup Foundation’ for one year.

“We have received more than 10,000 startups registration. We are currently doing the due diligence process out of which 350startups will be selected and participate on the demo day on 10 th August. These startups will give physical presentation to the top jurists, VC funds, angel forums and CEOs of big companies during the conference. Out of these 350 startups, we will select 15-20 startups, which will receive the prize money and will get active mentorship from our eminent members and panellists on ongoing basis for one year,” Chowdary has said.
